Roxanne's Cafe - Platte City
About This Spot
Roxanne's Cafe feels like settling into a familiar corner of Platte City where the rhythm slows down just enough to savor the simple joy of a good meal. The atmosphere is unpretentious and comfortably casual, inviting locals and visitors alike to unwind over plates that carry the warmth of traditional American home cooking. It’s the kind of place where you can expect personable, attentive servers who know some faces by heart yet welcome every newcomer with equal kindness.
Inside, the space is straightforward and clean, with large windows that offer a view out to the parking lot—a reminder that this is a genuine neighborhood favorite rather than a polished, destination spot. The décor complements the mood: modest and no-frills, underscoring the focus on honest food and good company rather than flash.
Roxanne's celebrates the comforting classics—hearty breakfasts and meaty entrees that remind you of family dinners and lingering morning conversations. Whether you’re easing into the day with fluffy pancakes and freshly brewed coffee or settling in for a midday meal of skillet-fresh chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes, the portions strike a balance that leaves you satisfied without overwhelming the plate or the appetite. The offerings feel rooted in tradition, crafted with a gentle care that speaks to home cooks more than celebrity chefs.
The pace here is unhurried but steady, allowing space for conversation and quiet moments alike. It’s a place where the local regulars’ quick familiarity subtly shapes the flow, lending a reassuring continuity to each visit. Perfect for a casual breakfast meeting, a relaxed lunch, or simply a comforting plate that feels like a warm welcome to the neighborhood.

PROs: Good location. Plenty of parking. Indoor seating with panoramic view of the parking lot. Simple decor/ambience. The place appeared clean. Miranda, our waitress, was kind. Food was ok. This is a meat and potatoes type restaurant. CONs: Noticed the regulars received quick service compared to newcomers/visitors. None of the breakfast entrees come with fruit except the cereal and banana. Approx. $38 including tip, we ordered the Farmer's Choice that came with a healthy serving of bacon and Gunslinger.

I'm glad we stopped in here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and good portion sizes(chicken fried chicken, mashed potato with white gravy and corn. Chicken Tenders, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, green beans. Definitely must have pie! I am not sure about that gooseberry pie though . Recommended and we will come back. Thanks, ladies, for allowing me to take the photos.

The menu is your classic breakfast lineup, but everything was done right. Portion sizes were spot on, the food came out quick and hot, and the coffee—simply put—was good coffee. We really enjoyed the taste of everything we ordered, and it’s clear this place is a local favorite. Our waiter was very attentive in a positive, non-intrusive way, which made the visit even better. Even though it’s a bit out of our usual area, we’ll definitely be back.

Food was delicious, a bit of small portions but can't ask a lot for a $10 to $15 breakfast. Waiters are very polite. Recommend to come eat here

Wanted a good breakfast and I heard Roxanne's Cafe could deliver. We stopped by and on had a very short wait before we were seated. All the breakfast favorites were available so we grabbed a little of everything. Pancakes, French Toast and Biscuits and Gravy showed up and we gave them a try. The French Toast was my favorite with the Biscuits and Gravy a close second. The pancakes were hot and fresh but not as good at the other options. If you go, there might be a wait but the food is good enough to stick around for. One item that I really enjoyed....the English Muffin.

Food was great. Service was phenomenal. The server worked the house and managed to be attentive to all.
